Deep validation of the Dependabot PR #1576 bumping @vscode/codicons from 0.0.35 to 0.0.44. No code changes — this PR documents the validation results.

Findings

PR #1576 is safe to merge. All checks pass:

  • No security advisories on @vscode/codicons@0.0.44
  • All 12 icon classes used in the codebase confirmed present in v0.0.44: info, edit, refresh, warning, link-external, folder, close, add, project, library, folder-opened, desktop-download
  • dist/codicon.css and codicon.ttf still present with same structure and TTF format (compatible with existing webpack asset/inline rule)
  • Full webpack build succeeds across all 7 entry points with no new errors
  • prepare: husky script in the new version is a no-op when installed from npm registry (only runs for local dev)
  • No @vscode/webview-ui-toolkit conflict — it doesn't depend on codicons

Version delta (0.0.35 → 0.0.44)

All changes are additive (new icons) or visual refinements (updated SVG paths for modern look in v0.0.42). No icons removed or renamed.
